The Highlands and Islands Social Enterprise Zone would like to thank everyone for their interest in this event and are pleased to announce that the conference is now sold out.

HISEZ is delighted that the rescheduled Highlands and Islands Social Enterprise Zone Conference 2010 will take place in Inverness on 27 August at the spectacular Centre for Health Science. Some changes have been made to the conference agenda and the theme will now be “Are we nearly there yet?”

The conference provides a chance for us to reflect on what has been achieved in recent years and how much further we have to go.

We will be welcoming back our guest speaker John Bird, founder of The Big Issue, who is a very active Social Entrepreneur and a passionate speaker. Delegates will hear his thoughts on Social Enterprise in the Highlands and Islands and, no doubt, his views on the future for the sector under the Coalition Government.

Do come along and meet with Social Enterprises from across the Highlands and Islands. There will be a chance to discuss issues which are affecting you, meet with people who can help you and find out how to access new markets or funding. There will also be a Social Enterprise Market area packed with local produce for you to buy, so come armed with your reusable shopping bags! The Market area will also include many other organisations interested in meeting and talking to Social Enterprises, so expect to make some new friends too.
